Three good reasons to kick back your kicker

 

Dear Friends,

This month we have a rare opportunity as citizens of Oregon to put aside our personal needs and focus on our community’s needs. Those of us who paid Oregon taxes in 2006 are receiving a major refund and it is up to us to determine how best to use it.

It will be tempting to use it for holiday expenses, or to put it away in a savings account.

But I know that you care about the success of Portland’s children. Because of this, I ask you to consider donating a portion of your kicker to the work the Portland Schools Foundation is doing to support equity, excellence, and innovation in our public schools.

With your help, the Schools Foundation enters its second decade ready to support the innovative programs that brought me to this great city – programs such as Connected by 25 and Excellence in Education.

I am asking that you kick back the kicker to ensure success for all of our kids. Your help will make the difference.
