CLASSROOM MUSIC PROJECT
A sponsored project of the Portland Schools Foundation, Classroom Music Project is aimed at providing unique learning opportunities to students in Portland Public Schools through music and technology.
Founded by composer and performing artist Aaron Meyer, the program teaches elementary and middle school students to create lyrics about what they are studying and then develop a melody and rhythm for the words. Aaron works with guitarist Tim Ellis, who is also a music technology specialist and recording studio operator. Together they bring a recording studio directly to elementary and middle school classrooms. The result is a classroom recording on CD that the students can share with family and friends.
