Courage to Teach

Courage to Teach

Courage to Teach (CTT) is a program of quarterly retreats for the personal and professional renewal of teachers, administrators, and counselors in the public schools.  The program is designed for pre K-12 educators, and focuses on renewing the inner lives of education professionals, rather than on teaching techniques.

Each CTT group consists of 20-30 educators who gather for three-day quarterly retreats over a one or two-year period.  In addtion, Courage to Teach activities can take the form of half-day and full-day gatherings, book study groups (The Courage to Teach, Let Your Life Speak, both by Parker Palmer), or other arrangements that meet the needs of groups of individual educators or schools.

As a result of participation in Courage to Teach, teachers can become revitalized in their professions, better able to work with other adults in their educational settings, and more centered on the students in their classrooms.
